Wheel seller takeaways
A 6.82% weekly decline in the VIX coexisted with 20%–40% moves in several tracked growth stocks. Index volatility therefore does not replace single-name event risk. An educational wheel review compares a current option chain and live bid-ask spreads, keeps the full cash obligation visible, and separates the August 10 ASTS/RKLB earnings window, the August 11 CRWV window and the August 12 NBIS window. Option premium is quoted per share; one standard contract represents 100 shares.
Next week
- Monday, August 10: Nasdaq lists ASTS, HIMS and RKLB after the close.
- Tuesday, August 11: Existing-home sales are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. ET; CRWV is listed after the close, while ASST has no supplied reporting time.
- Wednesday, August 12: July CPI and real earnings are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. ET; NBIS and TE are listed before the open.
- Thursday, August 13: Initial claims and July PPI are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. ET; NU is listed with no supplied reporting time.
- Friday, August 14: Advance retail sales are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. ET, followed by business inventories and the preliminary Michigan consumer survey at 10:00 a.m. ET. The current Nasdaq pull returned no tracked-universe earnings for Friday. Calendar dates and times can change.
June job openings were little changed at 7.4 million, while second-quarter nonfarm productivity rose at a 1.4% annualized rate and unit labour costs increased 1.3%. These readings, the July employment report and next week's inflation data give context to the drop in Treasury yields, but they do not make the experience uniform across sectors or individual holdings.
