Fed hold sends Dow down 2.19% as VIX jumps above 20
U.S. stocks sold off on July 29 as the Federal Reserve held rates in a 9–3 vote, the 10-year Treasury yield rose to 4.67%, and the VIX closed at 20.66. AAPL and MSFT fell less than the broad indexes, but the volatility reset raises the price of assignment risk as well as option premiums.
