IREN: +3.25% as the first Microsoft deployment becomes tangible
IREN said Microsoft accepted Horizon 1, the first of four 50-megawatt liquid-cooled AI cloud deployments planned at its Texas campus in 2026. The sites support a five-year, $9.7 billion cloud-services contract. NVIDIA also designated the GB300 NVL72 deployment an Exemplar Cloud after testing. Three Horizon phases and the broader expansion still require execution.

IREN wheel context: milestone quality does not remove build risk
Cboe’s delayed file listed 1,382 option series, 2,632,056 contracts of open interest and 174,440 contracts of prior-session volume. Options do not trade pre-market, and live volatility and spreads can change quickly around a project milestone.
- Objective levels: the delayed $44.99-$46.12 range, then Friday’s $44.06 close.
- What to watch: evidence that Horizons 2-4 remain on schedule; IREN targets 480 MW of gross AI-cloud capacity in 2026 and 1.2 GW in 2027.
- Main risk: one accepted 50 MW phase does not prove the utilization, margins or funding of the remaining expansion.
WDC: +3.87% as the annual filing sharpens the cloud-storage story
Western Digital’s Form 10-K, filed after Friday’s close, reported fiscal 2026 net revenue of $12.919 billion, up 36% from $9.520 billion. Cloud represented 89% of revenue and grew 38%, while operating income reached $4.453 billion. The top 10 customers generated 73% of revenue, and management expects fiscal 2027 capital spending to rise.

WDC wheel context: deep chain, concentrated customer exposure
Cboe’s delayed file listed 3,670 option series, 463,447 contracts of open interest and 39,986 contracts of prior-session volume. Three customers accounted for 16%, 15% and 13% of revenue. Rebuild live spreads and volatility after 09:30 ET.
- Objective levels: the delayed $520.74-$532.49 range and Friday’s $508.80 close.
- What to watch: whether the opening auction confirms the gap and whether SNDK and MU keep their early strength.
- Main risk: strong cloud pricing and volume can reverse if a few hyperscale customers slow purchases or demand lower prices.
CAPR: +1.08% with an August 22 binary event approaching
Capricor’s Deramiocel application remains under FDA review with an August 22, 2026 target date. Its 10-Q says a planned HOPE-3 amendment would extend that date after receipt. An advisory committee voted 3-9 against finding substantial evidence for the requested cardiomyopathy indication. At June 30, Capricor had $237.9 million of cash and marketable securities, no first-half revenue and a $40.7 million quarterly net loss.

CAPR wheel context: binary regulatory risk dominates premium
Cboe’s delayed file listed 476 option series, 216,940 contracts of open interest and 51,623 contracts of prior-session volume. An FDA decision or timeline extension can overwhelm premium income. Aggregate activity does not prove a defensible contract spread.
- Objective levels: the delayed $6.62-$7.34 range and Friday’s $6.65 close.
- What to watch: any FDA or issuer update that changes the August 22 timeline, the proposed indication or the planned amendment.
- Main risk: the negative advisory vote, manufacturing review, litigation and zero product revenue create independent failure paths.
Also on the radar
- SNAP -11.83% at $4.77: the gap had no new issuer catalyst at the quote cut; sub-$5 gaps can reverse sharply.
- SNDK +5.21% at $1,726.68: the memory rally extended without a fresh corporate trigger, leaving momentum as the main early signal.
- BE +4.58% at $240.46: Bloom Energy stayed firm after last week’s Nebius data-center story, without a new Monday issuer disclosure.
What to watch today
- 08:30 ET — Empire State survey: use the Morning Read for the macro reaction; this brief keeps the company stories separate.
- 09:30 ET — opening auction: compare first regular-session prices with every delayed range above.
- After the open — option chains: rebuild live bids, asks and implied volatility; Cboe totals are prior-session context only.
- Through August 22 — CAPR: distinguish an FDA decision, a timeline extension and an issuer amendment; they are not equivalent outcomes.
