Snapshot: 6 August 2026, 03:57–04:08 ET. U.S. equity futures were split: S&P 500 futures added 0.11%, Dow futures rose 0.23%, and Nasdaq-100 futures slipped 0.34%. The company lead is ARRAY Technologies. Its SEC-filed Q2 release showed a record $2.5 billion orderbook, up 37% year over year, alongside $342.1 million of quarterly revenue. The opening question is whether company-specific execution can stand apart from a mixed technology tape.
Macro overnight
| Region | Index | Level | Read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Japan | Nikkei 225 | 65,683.26 | -0.93% |
| Hong Kong | Hang Seng | about 25,485 | -1.43% to -1.65% |
| China | Shanghai Composite | 3,900.352 | +0.57% |
| Euro area | Euro Stoxx 50 | 6,506.52 | +0.46% |
| United Kingdom | FTSE 100 | about 10,911 | +0.21% to +0.29% |
| Germany | DAX | about 26,153 | Baseline conflict; level retained |
Asia was mixed. The Nikkei 225 closed at 65,683.26, down 0.93%, and the Hang Seng fell between 1.43% and 1.65% near 25,485, depending on the prior-close baseline. Shanghai gained 0.57% to 3,900.352. Europe opened firmer overall: the Euro Stoxx 50 rose 0.46%, and the FTSE 100 was positive. The DAX feeds agreed near 26,153 but disagreed on the sign of the session move, so the level—not a forced percentage—is the useful fact.
Cross-assets gave a cautious rather than stressed signal. September WTI traded around $75.47–$75.49, up 0.33%–0.36%. December gold was $4,319.90; its stated gain ranged from 0.34% to 1.75% because the feeds used different prior closes. The U.S. Dollar Index was nearly unchanged around 99.75, up 0.06%–0.09%. Cboe’s official delayed feed put VIX at 15.88, up 0.44% from 15.81.
Official Treasury data for the 5 August close showed 4.18% at 2 years and 4.63% at 10 years, a positive 45-basis-point slope. Today’s main verified U.S. data checkpoint is the BLS preliminary Q2 Productivity and Costs release at 08:30 ET on 6 August. The checked BEA schedule listed no release today, and the Federal Reserve Board calendar showed no public Board event for 6 August. This is a bounded calendar check, not a claim about every regional or private appearance.
Your tickers
ARRY: For the quarter ended 30 June 2026, ARRAY reported revenue of $342.1 million, gross margin of 29.1%, net income attributable to common stockholders of $8.4 million, and diluted EPS of $0.05. Adjusted EBITDA was $63.3 million and adjusted diluted EPS was $0.24; those last two measures are company-defined non-GAAP figures. The operating headline was the record $2.5 billion orderbook, more than $500 million of new orders in the quarter, a trailing-twelve-month book-to-bill ratio of 1.5x, and cumulative tracker shipments above 100 gigawatts.
| Measure | Q2 2026 | Context |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | $342.1 million | Reported |
| Gross margin | 29.1% | GAAP |
| Net income to common stockholders | $8.4 million | GAAP |
| Adjusted EBITDA | $63.3 million | Non-GAAP |
| Orderbook | $2.5 billion | +37% Y/Y |
Management kept its full-year revenue range at $1.4–$1.5 billion. It raised the lower end of adjusted EBITDA guidance to $210–$230 million from $200–$230 million, and the lower end of adjusted EPS guidance to $0.68–$0.75 from $0.65–$0.75. Q3 revenue guidance is $310–$330 million. These are forward-looking company estimates, not realized results; order conversion, tariffs, project timing and policy conditions remain the tests.
VIAV: VIAVI’s SEC-filed fiscal Q4 release reported net revenue of $443.1 million, up 52.5% year over year, a 13.8% GAAP operating margin and $32.7 million of GAAP net income. Fiscal 2026 revenue was $1.5 billion, up 40.0%, while the company recorded a $30.4 million GAAP net loss for the full year. For fiscal Q1 2027, management expects revenue of $450–$460 million and non-GAAP EPS of $0.40–$0.42.
What the filings confirm—and what they do not
The filings confirm ARRAY’s larger orderbook, positive Q2 profitability and a narrower raised adjusted-outlook floor, plus VIAVI’s strong fiscal-Q4 growth. They do not guarantee project conversion, margin durability or an opening-price response. Keep reported results, management-defined adjustments, guidance and market price as separate evidence streams.
What to watch today
- 08:30 ET — productivity and costs: read the official Q2 output, hours and unit-labour-cost details before attaching a rates narrative.
- 09:30 ET — breadth: compare the modest 0.11% S&P futures gain and 0.34% Nasdaq-100 decline with cash-market participation.
- ARRY conversion: focus on the $2.5 billion orderbook, 1.5x book-to-bill ratio and $310–$330 million Q3 revenue range rather than an unverified premarket percentage.
- Rates and volatility: rebuild the view from the 4.18% / 4.63% Treasury close and the 15.88 VIX snapshot after the cash open.
- Asia-to-U.S. hand-off: test whether the Hang Seng’s 1.43%–1.65% decline remains regional or appears in U.S. technology breadth.
The morning board combines a split futures tape, mixed Asian markets, steadier Europe and two issuer updates inside the live portfolio universe. The disciplined read separates verified filings from guidance and both from price action. This article is educational information, not personalized financial advice or an order recommendation.
