Rates remain a live input for wheel-strategy screens in July 2026. The Federal Reserve’s July calendar lists FOMC minutes at 2:00 p.m. ET on July 8, 2026 for the June 16-17 meeting, the Beige Book at 2:00 p.m. ET on July 15, 2026, and the July 28-29, 2026 FOMC meeting, followed by a 2:30 p.m. ET press conference on July 29.

The policy setting entering that calendar is already defined. On June 17, 2026, the FOMC statement said the Committee maintained the federal funds target range at 3.50% to 3.75%, and the statement was approved by a 12–0 vote. The same statement said inflation remained elevated relative to the Committee’s 2% goal.

The inflation data behind that caution are still fresh. BEA’s May 2026 Personal Income and Outlays release, issued at 8:30 a.m. EDT on June 25, 2026, reported the PCE price index up 0.4% from the prior month and 4.1% from a year earlier. Excluding food and energy, the PCE price index rose 0.3% month over month and 3.4% year over year. BEA lists the next Personal Income and Outlays release for July 30, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. EDT.

The option-seller read-through

This is a calendar-risk setup, not a directional forecast. Some premium sellers treat rate events as volatility checkpoints: they compare short-put collateral returns with the Treasury curve, avoid assuming implied volatility will stay constant, and keep earnings or Fed-day expirations separate from ordinary income trades.

The Treasury curve gives that collateral comparison a live benchmark. Treasury’s daily curve showed the 2-year yield at 4.14% and the 10-year yield at 4.49% for July 2, 2026, the latest July entry available in the official XML feed at the article cutoff.
